SWIL NEWS Volume 6, Number 12 December n<10, 1983 If all is as it should be. this will be the last one of these things that I will be doing. From now on the Dynamic Duo of Shoshanna and Jed will be taking over this duty among others. Last time Matts Wall and Katinsky, Shoshanna, Jed, Esther, Sherry, Ben Fulves, Dave Bedell, and I were present. Scott Schwartz put in a special guest cameo appearance. Special thanks continually go to Sherry who thought up the idea of the SWIL.NOTICES file. That makes these SWIL NEWSes a lot easier for all of us. And so here are the newer parts of that plus some other comments. ********** SWIL NOTICES ************** ______________________________________ I. Please put any submissions into the subufd BEM. A notice should have been put into the Weekly News asking for submissions; more media blitz will probably be needed. Those who volunteered some responsibility with this are Jed, Shoshanna, Ben Fulves, Irene, and Stefan. V. T-Shirt ~~~~~~~~~~ We need to know just who wants the t-shirt. Please go into the new file named "T.SHIRT" and put your name in there. Also your size. It should be black design on red shirt. We want the SWIL t-shirt. We are Name Size 1. Neil Ottenstein Medium 2. It was intended to look the way you might think. From out of SWIL came SWAPA. Any other comments on this matter should be brought up. Dave is willing to change the positioning. VI. Co-sponsored Movie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We have decided to offer to movie committee the movies _The_Day_the_Earth_Stood_ _Still_ and _A1ien_ for possible cosponsoring. It's up to them now. It appears that we were too slow. Oh, well. We will have to find out from Budget Committee about what to do with the money. VIII. Et cetera ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cornell library has a subscription to LOCUS, "the newspaper of the science fiction field" and an eight-time Hugo winner for Best Fanzine. I recommend it highly. Lots of publishing info, gossip, convention reports, updates on ongoing sf activities, etc. -SG There are issues there from the beginning on the year onward. NAO For those who have strong stomachs only: The contact sheets still exist for the pictures taken during the Oktoberfest filksing. Yes, in a matter of seconds you can see how foolish people can look. ONWARD>>>>> Enjoy yourselves. THE END IS NEAR Page 2 -
