The Weyrleaders complemented each other throughout the entire meeting A meeting will be held over break but it won't hurt people who are up for non-membership if they go away for the weekend. That's Tim, Shane, Jim, and Ruth's rock. Meetings are back on Satudays at high noon in Sharples. There will be a meeting to organize the Pterodactyl Hunt sometime over the next week. The event itself will occur Friday night 10/26. The Halloween Party will be held the next Friday 11/2. We will filk and perhaps read a few appropriate short stories aloud as well as party. Shoshanna received a packet of interesting Darkover material and an option to purchase a $7 filkbook with SWIL funds. Should she do it or should she let this once in a lifetime chance slip throL'gh her fingers? Please let her know what you think. PHILCON is the week before Thanksgiving break. Matt l~all supposedly has information about it. If you would like to go, you should start making arrangements soon. The Weyrleaders annour, ced that a rival weyr in Boston will be having a hatching in February. We must attend as a matter of form and impressionable SWIL members are welcome to Join us. More on this next semester. Slippery Jim smuggled in several videotapes that were shown in McCabe after the meeting. These included Star Trek III, Wild E. Coyote and the Temple of Dumb, and Quark, the Motion Picture. To all who missed it--Tough luck, it was great!. Book news: Both Shoshanna and Alison found _City_of_Sorcery_ the newest Darkover book by Marion Zimmer Bradley rather disappointing but they eagerly await _Return_to_Darkover_ the sequel to Sharra's Exile coming soon. I and Eric recommend Frank Herbert's _Heretics_of_Dune_. Well, that's about all. John reports that SWILnews is written on a high school reading level and Alison revealed her secret identity as Supergirl, but nothing really planet-cracking occurred.
