                    NEXT MEETING IS ELECTION DAY!


     Hello everyone, We hope that you enjoyed your meager shot at a
vacation. Now, for a change, We will provide you with two SWILnewses 
for the price of one. Present at last meeting were non-members: Ruth,
The Niffleheimer, Perry, Matt K., The Hindmost, Dan, Esther, Pamela
Sargent, Claudia, Jack, DeViouS, Steve and the Weyrleaders; and
members: Debby, Mina and David Bishop. Present at the meeting before
last were non-members: Ruth, The Niffleheimer, Perry, Irene, Matt K.,
Alison, Esther, Gavin, Claudia, Tanith Lee, Jack, DeVious, The
Psycho-Killer Historian, Steve, Barbara, and the Weyrleaders; and
members: Debby, Mina, Jon, Sarah Heimenn, and Steve Potthoff. Debby
was elevated to the exalted rank of non-member and the same lies in
store for Mina if she sets foot in the room next week.

     Announcemants: Various sf movies are now being released or are
playing in the area and SWIL can rent the SC vant form a car pool and
go see them. Candidates include _Buckaroo_Banzai_, _Supergirl_, _The_Rocky_
Horror_Picture_Show_, and soon to come _2010_ and _Dune_. Shoshanna says,
"I saw _Supergirl_...don't!" The Niffleheimer says, "Go to _Buckarro_
Banzai_ with no expectations of anything decent; Just relax and have
fun. "

     Alison played show and tell with David Eddings' Book Five of the
Belgariad, _Enchanter's_Endgame_. Shoshanna has been devouring the first
few at a rapid pace and has been relishing the experience. Next on her
menu is a copy of John Varley's Millenium which she would like to
borrow from anyone who has it. Speaking of strange eating habits, Matt
K. tried to drink cocoa with his chopsticks and Ruth succeeded in
eating her napkin and teabag label, and requested to receive SWILnews
with margins so she could have a light snack.

 		    Don't touch it. It's EVIL!


     How's that for a T-shirt slogan? Design anyone?

     Ruth's puck, the only known rival candidate has mysteriously
vanished. If anyone knows of its whereabouts, don't tell her until
after the election at high noon on Saturday in a Sharples reserved
room.
