Swilnews 10-11, Vol.II "Swil meets politics" otherwise entitled "The pretentiously penultimate Swilnews" Hello, everyone. Arising out of mire thick enough for Baton Races of Yaz, we find that there is once again time and purpose enough for a Swilnews. Why, you may ask? Well, for two reasons. First, we couldn't possibly pass up the opportunity to write a penultimate news, and second, having the opportunity to write a penultimate news means that the term of the 4 of us has expired (do not use after 12/89), and that it is time to select a new president/presidents to guide Swil fearlessly and charismatically through the next scholastic year. In brief, THERE WILL BE ELECTIONS FOR SWIL PRESIDENT THIS SATURDAY AT NOON. ANY NON-MEMBER WISHING TO VOTE OR RUN IN THE ELECTION SHOULD SHOW UP AT THE MEETING. (Any folks who just like to watch elections are welcome to come as well. Bleacher seats should be cheap, but Donald Trump has raised the price on ring-side seats.) News from past weeks -- There was a dismemberment last week. I wasn't there when it happened, so I don't know who it was. Names and graphic details will appear in next week's ULTIMATE SWILNEWS (stay tuned) when one of us who was competent enough to be at the meeting tells me what went on. There have been several attendance lists created in past weeks. Here's one -- (There'll be a Best of Attendance lists in the ULTIMATE SWILNEWS) Barolsky Deb {+$%#@>???>XX, DRouga Ocmubecbur Mackay-Smith, MS - masochism tango, Bruce "5:00 A.M.?!?" Hahne, Jed "I used to think being an OE would be fun" Hartman, Andy "Oh, foolish Jed ..." Perry, Mike, Jess "coffee for blood" Hines, Phil Khan, Sally "You bozos didn't really get up at 5 am to play Champions, did you?" Carter, Josh "yes, we did" Smith, Peter "did what?" Wagner, Yawn, Elliott "the Late" von Habsburg, Nao "the even Later", Rick "who obviously doesn't have a solid grasp of the psychological profiles of his friends" Post. And finally some exhortations for the Break, since they'll be too pushy to for the ULTIMATE SWILNEWS -- read some good books; tell us about them after Break. Write something for BEM; submit it. Sleep; visit strange and exotic places. See you Saturday, and let us leave you with this thought. Why are endings supposed to be profound? 4
