For this week, many many fine delegations of responsibility and all sorts of dscussion on future goings on, but before we get to all that we must make one announcement of utmost importance... We Have A TrEASUREr!!! yes sir, Juliana has chosen to immerse herself in the world of high finance and glamorous intrigue. Let's all give her a warm hurrah and a tuna melt shall we? ok then, how 'bout a melted hurrah and a warm tuna? whatever. right, that having been said, we move on to... SWILbusiness: Congratulations all, our plans for Parrish Annex have been completed and no one suspects anything! Jolly good show, squad D7. Squad E5 stand by for phase two. [codename "planarian" -TG] Right. Realising that most of us have managed to stay in the same place for the better part of a week, plans have been made to fling ourselves herabouts in the coming weekss, namely to the Pennsylvania Renfaire and the Philadelphia Science Fiction Convention, (Philcon). Fourteen have expressed interest in the Philcon Trip and 20 in the Renfaire trip. [evidently there are six of you out there who don't relish the thought of spending an eventful night with Mr. tho?rpe. can't imagine why. -TG] Philcon Memberships can be bought till the end of the month at a pretty reasonable price. Philcon is being tentatively handed to jere7my to be dealt with, and we believe that Sam and Andrea were dealing with the Renfaire, although they may have avoided Sharples to avoid either this duty or the blintzes. We are making inquiries. A side note, if other people want info about the Maryland Renfaire, Neil Ottenstein can provide it (we can forward such requests). Larry Miller, ex-treasurer and previous vice president in charge of moist towelettes, has begun a weekly anime fest in his room, Dana 209. These showings, beginning with "The Tick" will occur directly after SWIL meetings. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, anime (with accent) refers to a wide variety of animated fare, mostly involving Japanimation as well as the sort of thing one would find at an animation festival (such as Bambi meets Godzilla) sounds like loads of fun. nothing like sex and violence in pastel hues for my weekend enjoyment! [I know, I've seen your room. -L] [yep, that Rembrandt sure is controversial! -TG] Meanwhile... after finding the lost temple and vanquishing the guards our intrepid friends find themselves trapped with sickly green water spewing through a crack to fill the room deep in the heart of the monastic shrine to the great cheese god as we continue the adventure in... [stereo, cue incidental chord] THE QUEST FOR THE SWIL SERVER!!!!! -European Release Title "Leave it to Charles" coming to a theater near you (rated NC-17) If you want to know about the SWIL server, the key to the George C.Hurliman Memorial Library Memorial Library, what sort of things can be found in the debris of Parrish Annex, or the nutritional properties of lint, ask Charles. 'nuff said. Speaking of quests, there's supposed to be a pterodactyl hunt sometime soon and being the informed co-presidents that we are, we decided this week to find a couple of folks with enough time on their hands to handle such an affair. Thus we searched the length and breadth of the land for two individuals who were strong of heart and long of tooth, and eventually found Sir Fred and Lady Kendra who have taken up the standard in the interest of bringing an evening of fun and frivolity to an otherwise tranquil if not depressing land. As of now, these two souls are in charge of the hunt and as such have all the powers that be at their disposal to complete said task in as timely and efficient a manner as possible. their goals are three: 1) find rules and stuff and get everything together. 2)organize the monsters as well as outfitting said gaggle of goons. 3)irritate the treasurer [previous experience has shown that this is by far the most important job of the huntmasters. -TG] with their insistence upon handing her reciepts for slighty larger sums than were expected to be spent. [But , of course, this rarely occurs : ) -L] Good luck. Muahaha. Non SWIL business includes Joseph Goodman's search for artistic types to do illustrations for a Warhammer magazine (contact jgoodma1 for info) also, there are many people out and about, cruising down the information superhighway [methinks we've been using this term just a mite too often, TG -L] looking for a fun role-playing time. If interested contact Fred or Michael Gelman. Both of these people are compiling lists which is nice, especially since the lists have to do with people interested in role-playing games. Of course, they might prove to be blacklists designed to keep us role-players out of the central power structure, but I guess that's a chance we'll have to take. Jim Moskowitz is having a roundsing at 7:30 pm on Tuesday the 20th under Clothier Tower and hopes to have a storyreading at 8 on Thursday maybe on campus. Call him at 622-6416 or email jimmosk @ FI.EDU if you have any suggestions for locations, etc. More info on that to come later which leaves us with...
