SWIL 000 -- Sentience
Students will review basic proof-writing technique, and present original
results on their own sentience for review. Recent proofs have included
that of Jonathan Schneider, who, citing Franz Kafka's _Metamorphosis_, in
which Gregor Samsa, after being transformed into a giant insect, crawled out
of his room to hear his sister play the violin, at risk of his life, because
deep down he was human. (you know, i think that that ruffles Callicles'
fur. -k) (I think Callicles likes having his fur ruffled. Especially when
it's by me. -s) (You know, maybe we should institute some special marker to
indicate when we're referring to things out in the real world, to
distinguish them from our references to things in SWILnews. -s) ('n' is
capitalized in 'SWILNews' -c) (So, Callicles having his fur ruffled isn't
part of SWILNews? -i) Jonathan embodied the spirit of music with his own
body by playing "Finiculi, Finicula" on his face in an attempt to prove
Kafka sentient. Chris White countered that (I was going to wonder why
Callicles had two pairs of ears. -s) (and then you remembered that meese
have antlers! -k) Jonathan was worthless, since he wasn't in Worth, and
therefore he isn't human. Therefore, it follows from what the ARC says that
he isn't sentient. Megan handed Jonathan a couple of Sharples plates, and he
demonstrated plate tectonics. We voted him sentient (are you playing moose
catch again? -k) (Yes, I'm demonstrating that Callicles is not cylindrically
symmetric. You see, if you spin him like this, he just starts
tumbling. -s) (I think throwing one's co-presidents up in the air is
something that should probably be discouraged. -c) (I think it's
amusing. -i) (in my capacity as second-lightest co-president, i would like
to voice my objections. -k) (I'm so glad I'm not a co-president. -i) because
he was willing to smack himself upside the head, and on the condition that
he play "Finiculi, Finicula" at his senior remembrances. Required for all
SWIL Studies majors.
3.2115 Credits.

SWIL 666 -- Lottery

SWIL 007 -- Topics in Applied Game Theory: Housing Bingo
