SWILNEWS Volume 6 number 15 (I think) February n<7 1984 Hello, folks. If I were more organized you would have gotten this today (yesterday) but after forgetting the minutes from last meeting twice on my way to Beardsley I gave up. Which is why I'm typing this at 8:30 PM instead of 1:30 and why you haven't gotten it 'till now. In attendance last time were Dave, Stefan. Neil, Ellenl Jay, Jack, Matt, Gavin, Scott, and VinnYI and the Weyrleaders. Not much was discussed as we had not very much business to do. The main news is that DRACULA is Sunday the 12th at 7:30 and 9:00 in Clothier! Everyone please make as many signs as possible advertising this. Really. One of SWIL's image problems is, I thinkl its low visibility (although it could be argued that it's a help) and bringing a movie likely to be popular is a step toward correcting this. So make signs. Matt said that he would send a blurb on the movie to the Phoenix, so with luck we will get a mention there as well. The filksing went very well.- with three (I think) non-SWIL people there. (For the purposes of this announcement, "non-SWIL" is defined as "not on the mailing list" -Jack.) It was slightly short starting about ten and ending at twenty of twelve so that people could go to parties. Another kind of activity we should consider holding is a reading. Readings, with or without official themes, have been very successful, in the past, and we haven't had one this semester. Please think about possible themes or stories, and let's discuss this Sunday. As long as we're on the subject, another thing SWIL used to do was hold discussion groups on various topics. I was in "Religion in SF" last year and it was a lot of fun, although it disintegrated after a few weeks. Is there anyone out there who would like to run a discussion group? Random news dept: someone at the meeting said that DUNE has been postponed until Christmas. See you Sunday! Shoshanna (Jed is at Southern discovering fire lizards and strange mushrooms.)
