SWILNEWS Volume 6 Number 16 Feb n<16, 1984 The meeting began last week as the Weyrleaders ousted their weyrmates from the SWIL room and sent them to the caverns to avoid threadfall. Making their various presences known were Scott M, Gavin, Heather, Matt W, Jack, Jay, Ellen, Neil, The Weyrleaders, Alison, Irene, and Ed. All of these august personnages (plus Sherry) were included in the official SWIL photo for the Halcyon under the banner 'SWIL OR DIE' in Cloisters. Gavin and Scott were sworn in as official non-members with voting privileges and a non-sentience option to the bugling of many dragons. They have also been elevated in the SWILLIST (What an honor). This involved a major reordering thereof. There are now 26 official non-members. (two more on leave) and 14 others. Dracula was indeed shown in Clothier on that misty Sunday night. About ninety people attended and it was a pretty good film. By the way, Does anyone know why. there were two armadillos in Dracula's castle? At the meeting, Jed proposed that we open the Tri-College Concert with a filksing. Amidst no enthusiasm the motion was changed to holding a reading on March 17 in Lodge 6 at 3:00 pm. No theme was considered but since it will be St. Patrick's day, how about a green theme (fine by me -sg). Heather reported that Donaldson is working on The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant Trilogy. Also Anne McCaffrey is working on sequels to Dinosaur Planet and Crustal Singer. There may be a Dragonflight movie and/or Saturday morning cartoon.
