General: As they are currently arranged, the filks are divided into four parts. Part 1 is songs that refer to a specific work or series in SF/fantasy. Part 2 is songs more about general fandom and non-specific SF themes. Part 3 is all songs about academia and Swarthmore. The final part is a hodge podge of everything that didn't fit into the other categories. Most of the computer songs wound up in here. In all cases the division is somewhat arbitrary. There are a few pseudonyms listed in the writers. Tweedledee is Geoff Hopcraft '90, Tweedledum is Chris Cobb '90, and Hildebaby is Jeff Hildebrand '92. Part 1: Banned From Argo: At convention filk sings this particular song has been sung to death. One of the few ways possible to make a fool of yourself at one of these filk sings is to ask to sing this. (SWIL filk sings tend to be more forgiving.) The Epical History of the War of the Rings: The version here is the short version. Shoshana Green '86 apparently knows the full thing. When I'm Barcodes: Three SWIL folk spent the summer of '89 working on McCabe's automation project which involved putting barcodes into books. Chapter 4: King George V/God Save the Queen: It's traditional at filk sings to sing this at midnight when supposedly the sing is supposed to be ending. It inevitably wand Ballad of Lime Jello: Rumor has it that this originated out of a comment from Larry Niven at con where he said he thought it would be fun to have an orgy in a bathtub of lime jello. This left a bunch of people sleeping the amphitheatre and a bunch of other places.
